鼠患-1, Mice disaster-1

紐約的老鼠多的不像話，大家都知道。地鐵三不五時就看到老鼠橫衝直撞大家也已經司空見慣了。由於最近多次聽到有朋友詢問捉老鼠的方法，想順便分享一下我們捉完四隻從大-中-小-小小老鼠的心得。人妻我還是在紐約住了兩年多之後，才有真正在家裡看到老鼠的出沒。

Anyone who lives in NYC knows that mice are everywhere. People can easily see mice run along the subway rail, sometimes on the platform. Due to too many friends have problem to avoid and catch mice lately, I wanna share our experience that we caught four mice from large-medium-small-extra small in a row last winter. That was the first time that I ever had saw these many mice in the house after living in NYC two years.

我們第一次的相遇是在某天正在趕案子的凌晨，聽到廚房有塑膠袋西西颼颼的聲音，心想老公已經睡到打呼了，冬天窗戶也沒開狠大所以也不是風吹的呀??就走到廚房看看(那時候打從心裡就沒想到會是老鼠)，在打開燈的一瞬間，就餘光掃到一個小黑影往櫥櫃後面衝進去..........哇哩....不會是老鼠吧??馬上把老公叫起來,用紙箱圍住櫥櫃附近，手拿電蚊拍(怕老鼠衝出來我至少還有武器)，再穿上球鞋(怕被咬)，兩個人在廚房纏鬥很久都沒看到老鼠再度出沒的晴況下，那天就姑且去睡覺，隔日再來處理。

To recall our first met, I was staying up late for a project. I heard plastic bag rubing sound, wondered....my hubby had a nicely snored sleeping already, and I almost closed the window because of winter, there was no way that wind could blow over. On the point of walking into kitchen and turning on the light, I saw a tiny shadow flee into the back of countertop.....................OMG, was that a mouse. I woke up my hubby, two of us tried to trap mouse at that night, however ....in vain. We back to sleep for that time, and thought we had to come up a better plan to deal with it.

經過老紐約MOMO恩人的指導，她告訴我門她抓完六隻老鼠的心得，其中最有效的方法就屬..."黏鼠版+花生醬"。這方法實在是太有效了，隔天早上我門就捉到有我拳頭一半大的老鼠被黏住動彈不得。當然怎麼處理他也是一番討論，之後再說明。當晚我門很開心的以為捉到"一隻"老鼠就沒事的安心睡覺了...(待續)

After getting a comment from our friend, Momo, an old new yorker who had experience of trapping six mice, she told us the best way to trap them is a glue trap with peanut butter on the top. That was really an effective way, because we caught the mouce right after a day when I saw it. But how to kill it is another story, I'll address it later. This mouse was half size of my fist. That day, we were so released to get "one" mouse trapped...(To be continued)
